    When a mother is taking care of her child, everychoice she makes affects the baby, wether it be excerise, work, eating food or wether it be the choice to smoke, to take illegal drugs, to drink alcohol. Below are a number of the things that affect a Baby the most, which is the Mother's choice.

    How Illegal Drugs provokes Birth Defects: When an addicted pregnant woman takes illegal drugs she is forcing this decision onto her unborn child, therefore making this baby become addicted to this. Most illegal drugs provoke miscarriages, stillborns and premature births. As soon as the baby is born and their supply of the drug is cut off, they go into the same stages as a human when they crave the drug.

    Negatives of Pregnancy: If teen pregnancy is the issue, then education might have to be put on hold and doors may closed. The child may be unwanted by the parents and due to the parents, they may be abused. Also the parent (if in the teenage situation) may be teased because of what they have done. Pregnancy may also be the result of rape or unwanted sexual actions. The person may not want children because of work and travel.

    How Exercise affects the way a baby grows: If a pregnant woman exercises too much (as in more than 3 hours a day) it is known to have effect their babies by them having a low birth rate.

    A Mother's health also affects the unborn baby, if she has low blood sugar the baby can have deformed ears, fingers and toes. If a Mother has Pre-eclampsia, this can cause premature births. Other health problems could risk the life of the baby if they have not been looked over by a doctor.

    There are many aspects of this but i'll be addressing the positives and negatives of Pregnancy and Birth Defects.
    Negatives of Birth Defects: Normally people who have children with Birth Defects are depressed or upset, because of what has happened, also they may be thinking if they did the right thing by their child (thinking what would have happened if they didn't proceed with the pregnancy). A negative result of Birth Defects is that they normally cost a fair bit of payment, for treatment and towards research for cures. As the child grows up, they may be prone to bullying and they not want to be treated differently. Also another negative would be the life line of the child with the birth defect, it not only impacts the child, but it also impacts family and friends.
    {http://www.radioanywhere.co.uk/upload/35/481.bullying%5B1%5D.jpg}
    But let's not forget about the positives.
    Positives of Birth Defects: Although this may seem as if this is a horrible thing to overcome, there is always some light in problems. There is always fundraising going on for Birth Defects and with modern technology; scientists are coming one step closer to finding cures. Although the financial crisis of this may be a burden, there are other families like that and they help each other out, fundraising is a great idea to help with money. School could be a bit hard sometimes, but if there is a school that caters for the needs of the child then, what is there to worry about?
    {http://www.ticketprinting.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/fundraising%20meter.jpg}
    {http://nortonbooks.typepad.com/everydaysociology/WindowsLiveWriter/clip_image002.gif}
    Positives of Pregnancy: The positive is that you have created a new life, you have brought a new life into this world to seek out the wonderful things life have in store for it. Although it may be scary watching them grow up, it would be worth the while. We are all children ourselves and don't we treasure our parents more than anything? The brought us here into this world, into this life and although life seems a bit unfair at times, it would be worthwhile to see a child grow up, knowing you helped.

    Pregnancy is a wonderful part of life because it creates another. Although some people aren't ready to become parents, they take on the parenting role. Miscarriages and Birth Defects are only a minor setback, but the choice is there if you don't think you're up for it. Parenting opens a whole new world of perspective.
    Genetic Defects are always going to be in this world, scientists are finding out way to prevent them as well as terminate them and cure them.
    There will always be set backs, but these ones can be cured and if not now, they should be curable in the future.

    Aborting a pregnancy is terminating the embryo, fetus or child. Aborting is when the pregnancy is unwanted and the parents wish to not have a child. Aborting also means the removal of an embryo or fetus from the mother, however there are several kinds of abortions, such as:
    The Spontaneous Abortion this in other words is called a miscarriage.
    The Induced Abortion is when the course of pregnancy is stopped due to drugs (prescribed for this).
    An abortion is when you can get doctors to forcefully move the embryo or fetus during an operation.
    An abortion you can get is when the embryo is under the weeks of 9, oral medicines can be used.
    To remove the deceased baby, a D&C is used, this is the procedure used to remove unwanted substances, this is normally used after a miscarriage and D&C stands for Dilation and Curettage. Dilation is when they open up the cervix, curettage is when they remove the contents of the uterus.
    These are very emotional operations to go through and unfortunately this is one of the most common operations used on women under the age on 17, as well as abortions.

    A normal pregnancy is when there are no complications within the pregnancy period of time and there are no complications within the conception and birth of the child. It basically depends on the person who is having the child and their family history. Due to many causes of the outside environment, it is vital that in the first 12 weeks of the baby being in the uterus that it is kept safe, it is most vulnerable at this time and if harmed, it can make living for this very living organism hard, stressful, not only for the fetus but for the mother as well. These are the monthly steps of pregnancy.
    Month One: The cells of the egg and sperm create the embryo and the embryo sticks to the lining of the uterus. This embryo has already started to receive its legs and arms as well as the heart, liver and digestive system.
    {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/1stMonth.gif}
    Month Two: Most of the major organs have developed and blood has started being pumped around by the heart, the brain has started to grow and the arms and legs are budding out.
    {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/2ndMonth.gif}
    Month Three: The embryo has changed and is now called a living fetus, bones are starting to form, muscles are developing and the reproductive systems are being developed, fingers, toes and eyelids are formed.
    {http://www.abc.net.au/health/library/img/3months.gif}
    Month Four: All of the organs have finished growing, hair is being grown and finger nails are being formed as well as teeth in the gum.
    {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/4thMonth.gif}
    Month Five: The baby can start hearing muffled sounds, hair is growing on the head. The mother can feel its fetus move; the baby has started sucking its thumb.
    {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/5thMonth.gif}
    Month Six: Fingerprints are visible, the baby will start to open its eyes, the lungs will start to mature and the bones are hardening.
    {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/6thMonth.gif}
    Month Seven: The brain is nearly stopped growing, tastebuds are forming and there is less room for the baby to move. {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/7thMonth.gif}
    Month Eight: The lungs are fully mature, the baby might get the hiccups and if born prematurely it has a good chance of survival.
    {http://www.storknet.com/ip/graphics/8thMonth.gif}
    Month Nine: The baby is ready to be born (delivered) and the lungs are working well.

    dotydotdot
    There have been known preventions found by scientists and they have led to known cures, some of these are listed below. These are precautions women should take, but if they are really concerned they should seek out more information about the Amniocentesis Test or the Chorionic Villus Test.
    If a woman takes up to 400 micrograms of folic acid everyday it can help prevent major birth defects of the brain and the spinal cord.
    {http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_yn6arQT_IFA/S_U9zbob30I/AAAAAAAAFKg/om1NN8Mb1gE/s1600/drhan-folic+acid3.jpg}
    Before taking any medications talk to a health care provider, because they know what the effects of the medication may have on the baby.
    {http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0SMaI5RKBZA/TbA0sa477gI/AAAAAAAAJl4/ASCj4MvqghQ/s1600/medications.png}
    Try and prevent infections, or receiving infections, by being very wary of whom you are around at certain times.
    {http://www.ecolab.com/PublicHealth/images/PublicHealth.jpg}
    Before taking any vaccinations whilst trying to get pregnant, ensure that your doctor knows of this, making sure that you have the right vaccinations at the right time is vital for the baby and mother.
    {http://www.equidblog.com/uploads/image/Vaccination_Illustration.jpg}
    Keep yourself at a good healthy weight; this is important because if you are obese or overweight this can cause difficulties with the unborn child.
